Bij het kuieren door onze oude blog, www.bloggen.be/natam kwamen wij toevallig onderstaand artikel-- gepubliceerd op 9-12-2011 in de NAIS Gazet tegen.

Nu iedereen “Standing Rock” kent maar nog steeds spreekt over “dé Indianen” en het Indiaanse “volk” denken we dat onderstaand artikel nog wel even kan herhaald worden.

Vaak wordt er met ontzag geluisterd naar mensen die “in Amerika bij de Indianen” geweest zijn.

Vaak worden we rond de oren geslagen met woorden zoals: “sjamanen”, ”medicijnmannen” en “chiefs” en het wordt nog erger wanneer men het heeft over ‘persoonlijke contacten’ met de echte Indianen die hen àlles over ceremonies geleerd hebben.

Helemaal fout wordt het wanneer bedrieglijke personen in Europa traditionele ceremoniën gaan uitvoeren bij goedgelovige mensen tegen “donaties”.

Dan vernemen we ook dikwijls dat ze horen bij "de Native American Society”.

Het noemen van de Native Society is al even cryptisch als :’de opbrengst gaat naar Standing Rock’.

Daarom dachten we dat het geen slecht idee zou zijn om even een beeld te geven hoe die zogenaamde “Society” eruit ziet.

Van de ongeveer 565 erkende stammen gaan we enkel de LAKOTA/DAKOTA en NAKOTA bekijken.
